Die Peroxyoxalat-Chemilumineszenz mit Oxalylchlorid wurde hier schon beschrieben. Mit Bis(2,4,6-trichlorphenyl)oxalat (TCPO) lässt sich die Reaktion jedoch wesentlich angenehmer demonstrieren und die Chemilumineszenz hält länger an.
Geräte:
Reagenzgläser, Reagenzglasständer, Spatel, Pipetten
Chemikalien:
Bis(2,4,6-trichlorphenyl)oxalat
Dichlormethan
2-Propanol
Kaliumnatriumtartrat
Farbstoffe, z.B. Rubren
Wasserstoffperoxidlösung 30%
Durchführung:
10 mg TCPO, 5 mg Farbstoff und 100 mg Kaliumnatriumtartrat werden in ein Reagenzglas mit einem Gemisch aus 5 mL Dichlormethan und 1 mL 2-Propanol versetzt. Nach kräftigem Schütteln gibt man 1 mL Wasserstoffperoxidlösung hinzu, verdunkelt den Raum und schüttelt erneut. Nach kurzer Zeit erstrahlt das Gemisch in einer für den Farbstoff typischen Farbe:
Rhodamin B - rötlich
Rhodamin 6G - orange
Eosin - orange
Rubren - gelb
9,10-Bis(phenylethinyl)anthracen (BPEA) - grün
9,10-Diphenylanthracen - blau
Entsorgung:
Dichlormethan und die Lösungen werden zu den halogenhaltigen organischen Lösemittelabfällen gegeben. 2-Propanol kann zu den halogenfreien organischen Lösemittelabfällen gegeben werden. Wasserstoffperoxidlösung kann nach katalytischer Zersetzung in kleinen Mengen in das Abwasser gegeben werden. Sonstige Abfälle gibt man zu den organischen Abfällen.
Erklärung:
Der genaue Mechanismus der Peroxyoxalat-Chemilumineszenz ist nicht geklärt. Man geht davon aus, dass das Wasserstoffperoxid das TCPO zu 2,4,6-Trichlorphenol und 1,2-Dioxetan-1,2-dion umsetzt:
Dieses zerfällt zu elektronisch angeregtem Kohlenstoffdioxid, welches seine Anregung an den Farbstoff abgibt, woraufhin der Farbstoff unter Abgabe von Licht in den Grundzustand zurückkehrt:
Diese Reaktion wird von Basen, hier Kaliumnatriumtartrat, katalysiert.

Da kommt mir irgendwie gerade so die Idee, dass man evtl beim nächsten Forentreff einfach mal alles möglich an Lumineszenzfarbstoffen mitbringt die sich für die Oxalyllumineszenz eignen und dann nen Regenbogen/Farbspektrum oder einfach nur ne Riesenpalette gleichzeitig laufen lassen und fotografieren/filmem würde

Das ist richtig,... die Frage ist nur, ob das auch passiert,... oder ob sich durch Nebenreaktionen der Aromaten untereinander (DA,...) etwas ändert,...

Da dürfte nix passieren. Es gibt ja auch die "weißen" Knicklichter und da funzt das auch. Wenn ich nicht grade an was anderem basteln würde, würde ich das mal mit Luminol Rhodamin 6G, 9,10- Diphenylanthracen und Fluorescein antesten. Acridinorange und Eosin hätte ich auch noch da aber ersteres ist recht "zickig" aber geil was das "machbare" Spektrum betrifft. Bei DNA z.B. Grün bei RNA rot...

hab das grade angetestet. Hatte kein DCM sondern nur noch ne Mischung aus CHCl3 und EtOH. Als Fluorophor hab ich einfach ne Spur Rhodamin 6G genommen und das Eppi in dem mir ein guter Freund aus Hamburg das TCPO mitgebracht hat verwendet. Leuchtet wie die Wildsau Danke P. !

Ich würde an der Stelle vermuten als "Lösungsvermittler", da die Reaktion grundsätzlich auch ohne iPrOH und auch mit anderen Basen (NaOAc, Na-salicylat,...) funktioniert.
