Ja, jetzt kann ich verstehen warum du so scharf drauf bist... Die Teile machen schon Spaß... Das Protochlorophyllid ist aber noch viel spannender und vorallem toller. Das rohe Extrakt steht noch unter Argon im Kolben und wartet darauf ein wenig aufgereinigt zu werden... Die Farbe ist so toll!

Ja, die Farben sind der Wahnsinn. Mit dem Protoporphyrin seid ihr ja hoffentlich auch vorsichtig was Sauerstoff und vor allem Licht angeht...oder habt ihr da sogar noch was weiterführendes geplant? Ich wollte demnächst mal Photoprotoporphyrin und daraus Spirographis-Porphyrin machen.

Ist noch lichtgeschützt und ich glaube unter Ar seit einigen Wochen im Kolben (unverändert). Habe erstmal nicht vor damit weitere Sachen zu machen aber muss sehen wie ich das vernünftig umgefüllt bekomme, da es sich nicht ganz trocken rotieren lässt. Eventuell sollte man es kurz über die Säule laufen lassen, auch wenn der Clou war, es als "Eierschalenfarbe" abzufüllen. Eventuell könnte man damit zu Ostern mal ein schönes Experiment machen. Auf der DC haben wir gesehen, dass es ziemlich schnell grün wurde.

Man erkennt, dass das Protoporphyrin IX bei Weitem den größten Anteil ausmacht. Auch wenn es sich hier um die Methylester handelt kann man gut die braune Farbe der Eier wiedererkennen. Mehr Infos gibt es noch im Artikel (und neuem Video) zum Showexperiment.

Ja, es ist wirklich weit überwiegend Protoporphyrin. Ich hatte ja damals bei der Koproporphyrinsynthese auch Eierschalenextrakt als DC-Referenz verwendet (die dritte Bande von oben ist Koproporphyrin III). Ich müsste sogar irgendwo noch eine Probe von damals rumstehen haben, ich schau mal ob das noch gut oder schon zersetzt ist.

Deine DC habe ich mir dazu auch schon angeschaut... Mir ist nur aufgefallen, dass bei dir die Banden wesentlich intensiver scheinen. Das hat mich ein wenig verwundert... Aber darum habe ich die DC auch vor der Lösung nicht gezeigt, weil sie dem kundigen Leser sofort verraten hätte um was es sich handelt

Ja, ich hatte mehr gespottet damit man das Koproporphyrin besser erkennt. Deswegen ist bei mir der Protoporphyrin-Spot innen auch dunkel, der ist so intensiv dass es schon wieder die Fluoreszenz quencht.

EDIT: Die Kristalle zeigen beim Trocknen ein starkes Verwittern, es wird also keine hübschen Makrofotos geben.

Beim nächsten Ansatz sollte ich mal die Kamera mit ins Lab nehmen. Die Fluoreszenz ist wirklich genial, leider sieht es bei den verwitterten Kristallen eher langweilig aus (ist dafür vermutlich intensiver).

Danke! Ich werde das Bild noch in der betreffenden Stoffbeschreibung einfügen und die vllt. auch generell etwas überarbeiten und erweitern, aber da die "Synthese" aus der Verseifung von Testosteronpropionat mit KOH in Ethanol/Wasser bestand werde ich dafür denk ich mal keinen Artikel verfassen.

Ammonolyse von Methylbenzoat, nach einigen Tagen stehen - Kristalle von Benzamid wachsen von der Oberfläche der Lösung her nach unten.
Die Kristalle können ganz schön groß werden, bei der leichtesten Erschütterung fallen sie dann von der Oberfläche nach unten (wo sich schon einige angesammelt haben...). Das Bild ist daher nicht ganz so "spektakulär" wie es beim ersten mal nachsehen noch war, da war es noch ein richtig schönes großes Büschel...
Das eingesetzte Methylbenzoat war recht roh und verunreinigt, daher die bräunliche Farbe (bzw eher grau in der ammoniakalischen Lösung).

wer errät was da zu sehen ist gewinnt meinen ewigen Respekt (und so viele Waschmaschinen wie er tragen kann)! Hint: links ist als Vergleich ein Naturstoff (Gemisch) zu sehen, Laufmittel Toluol-EtOAc 22:3 (Anfärbung mit Cer-Ammoniummolybdat, mit UV wäre nichts zu sehen.)
