Selen
Geräte: Reagenzglas, Bunsenbrenner, Spatel Chemikalien: Selenige Säure (T) 
Thioharnstoff (N, Xn)  
Hinweis: Vorsicht beim Umgang mit Selenverbindungen! Durchführung: In einem Reagenzglas wird eine kleine Menge Selenige Säure (H2SeO3) gelöst, notfalls unter Erwärmung mit dem Bunsenbrenner. Zur klaren Lösung werden anschließend einige Körnchen Thioharnstoff gegeben, woraufhin sich sofort rote Schlieren bilden und schon nach kurzer Zeit ein roter Niederschlag sichtbar wird, der sich nach einer Weile schwarz verfärbt. Entsorgung: Entstandenes Selen wird aufhoben oder zusammen mit Seleniger Säure und Thioharnstoff zum anorganischen Feststoffabfall gegeben. Erklärung: Das Selen wird vom Thioharnstoff zu elementarem (rotem) Selen reduziert, während der Schwefel des Thioharnstoffs oxidiert wird. H2SeO3 + 2 (NH2)2C=S --[H2O]--> Se + 2 S + 2 (NH2)2C=O + H2O Bilder:

Gefällt mir.
Rotes Selen habe ich letztens aus einer Lsg. von Se in konz. Schwefelsäure gefällt. Steht seit ca. 2 Wochen rum aber eine Schwarzfärbung konnte ich bis jetzt nicht beobachten... |

Im Gerdes steht auch, dass sich der NS allmählich schwärzlich färben kann.

Bei der Diphenylselenid-synthese damals ist auch rotes Selen entstanden,... selbst jetzt ist es noch nicht ganz schwarz, aber es wurde nach einigen Tagen schon deutlich dunkler. Und ja: der Versuch stammt ausm Gerdes, deshalb hab ich's auch so geschrieben  |

@Jan: Wäre jetzt die Gleichung analog zum Gerdes. Allerdings gefällt mir das mit dem Schwefel nicht so ganz, weil man davon nix sieht :/ Mag zwar sein, dass das Se den S überdeckt, aber man sieht halt gar nix, was einen an S erinnert. |

Jetzt ist sie noch unausgeglichener. Vorhin stimmten nur die H's nicht. Außerdem ist Harnstoff nicht (NH3)2CO sondern (NH2)2CO, Thioharnstoff analog. |
