Beschreibung: Lawrencium ist ein sehr instabiles Actinoid; das stabilste Isotop hat eine Halbwertszeit von 3,6 Stunden. Es wurde 1961 vom Team um Albert Ghiorso an der University of California in Berkeley durch Beschuss von Californium mit Borkernen entdeckt. Lawrencium wurde nach dem Erfinder des Cyclotrons, Ernest O. Lawrence, benannt. Die stabilste Oxidationsstufe des Lawrenciums ist +III (Lr3+). |
